Huelgas Combativas Contra Reformas Agresivas This sticker shows an image of a young woman with her arm raised in a fist and a call to strike. It was produced by the Area of Youth of the United Left Party, a group of young Spaniards with an anti-capitalist perspective that functions as part of the larger political and social movement in Spain. The organization strives for an alternative form of neoliberalism and has goals of equality, solidarity, justice and respect for the environment and human rights. The strike is a response to the budget reforms that Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy proposed in February of 2012. The woman is wearing a checkered Keffiyeh, which symbolizes support of the Palestinian resistance. Hippies in Madrid wear the Keffiyeh as do politicians like Sanchez Gordillo, a member of Spain's United Left party. The use of the scarf in the image suggests that this woman is in support of Gordillo and his communist ideals. The red backdrop strengthens the idea of a workers resistance. The use of the women in the sticker is a particular call to women of the work force.
